AFRICA DAY BUSINESS CONFERENCE

MAY 25TH, 2018

2:00pm - Maria de Molina 11, Madrid, Spain

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Africa Day Business Conference here at IE Business School is a one day conference which is designed to address trending issues on the African continent with an entrepreneurial mindset and a humanistic approach to drive innovation and change in organizations operating in Africa. The conference represents a unique opportunity for future business leaders to build relationships with their counterparts across the continent and affords participants the opportunity to gain a unique perspective of trending issues on the continent. It also creates an opportunity to meet and share insights with policymakers and industry leaders on the future prospect of the continent and its relations with the rest of the world.

The conference is supported by the Africa at IE initiative which builds bridges and partnerships between IE and Africa's leading private, public and non-profit organizations.

THEME - OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR SUSTAINABLE INTRA-REGIONAL GROWTH IN AFRICA

In crafting this year's theme, we considered the impact of slower growth in the developed world which makes Africa increasingly attractive, especially in the non-commodities industries. In addition, the recent signing of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement would herald the advent of a larger African market which should be particularly interesting to investors.

The conference aims to host relevant discourse on priority areas relevant to the successful integration and prosperity of the continent - such as trade, infrastructure and ICT - their associated targets and expected outcomes over the next few years and indicative strategies to stakeholders.
